Description

This is a house, originally a farmhouse, dating back to the 17th century, with a later 19th-century addition and alterations. The house is timber-framed and originally plastered, but the exterior is now largely cased in 19th-century gault brick, with a gault-brick extension. It has plain tile roofs. A large rear chimney stack dates back to the 17th century. The house has one and two storeys and attics. The original 17th-century layout was a T-shape, with a two-bay 19th-century addition to the front elevation. There are two large casement dormer windows in the roof. The first floor has two hung sash windows, one to the left hand with side lights, and a similar hung sash window on the ground floor. A half-glazed panelled door is located on the right side, set within a double recessed round-headed brick arch with impost blocks. Inside, features include stop-chamfered ceiling beams, exposed timber framing, side-purlin roofs and a large inglenook hearth.
