Description
This is a barn located to the southeast of Number 1 (Tudor Cottage), built in the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with limestone quoins and window dressings, topped with a plain tile hipped roof. The main entrance faces northeast, featuring a street facade with a sawtooth brick eaves cornice and Flemish bond brick coursing. There are two sealed windows with segmental brick arches. The barn is connected to No. 1 High Street by a contemporary lower range made from similar materials. This building may have served as Rev. Trotter's library; Rev. H. Trotter, the rector of Graveley who died in 1766, is said to have owned a library of 1,400 volumes, which is now housed in Jesus College, Cambridge.
