Description
Shingled Cottage and Elizabeth Cottage are two cottages with different building periods. The rear range dates from the 18th century, while the front range was built around 1840, forming a T-plan. The cottages are timber framed, roughcast rendered, and have a long straw thatch roof with an axial ridge stack. They are one storey with an attic and feature two dormers. The ground floor includes a boarded door and two windows, likely in their original openings, one of which is a horizontal sliding sash. The front range is also timber framed, roughcast, and has a pantiled roof with an end stack. Inside, there are two rooms on either side of the stair and hall bay, with two horizontal sliding sashes on the ground and first floors. The doorway has been partly blocked and partially replaced by a modern window.
