Description

This is a mid-17th century cottage located in Fulbourn, with later additions and alterations extending into the 18th and 20th centuries. A rear wing was added in 1667, as indicated by a panel on its rear wall. The cottage is timber-framed and rendered, with a steeply pitched tiled roof and a rebuilt ridge stack. Originally comprising two bays, the rear range creates a ‘T’ shaped plan. The upper floor features two flush frame horizontal sliding sashes with small panes. The ground floor has two mid-19th century four-pane hung sashes, flanking a 19th-century gabled porch leading to a lobby entry. A brick and painted extension was added to the rear, with a gabled tiled roof and two storeys. In the 18th century, the cottage was extended again with a narrow bay to the left, built with a timber frame, rendered finish, and a lean-to roof.
