Description
No. 143 Caxton End is a house that was originally part of a row of four cottages. It dates from the early 19th century and features a 20th-century crosswing on the east side. The building is constructed with a timber frame and clay bat, and it has a rough cast render with a brick plinth. The original thatched roof has been replaced with pantiles, and there is a ridge stack. The house is two storeys high and has a boarded door on the right side, with a 20th-century main entrance located through a 19th-century divided chimney stack on the left. There are two horizontal sliding sash windows on the ground floor and three on the first floor, along with two fixed light windows. The gable of the 20th-century crosswing features four hung sash windows.
