Description
The Lion and Lamb Public House is an inn that dates back to the early 17th century, with 19th-century extensions and alterations. It features a casing of 19th-century gault brick over a timber frame and has a plain tile roof that is hipped at an angle. A large 17th-century ridge stack with grouped diagonal shafts is present, along with a gable end stack on the south side. The building is two storeys high and has an L-plan layout, with 19th-century gable extensions to the south and west.
On the first floor, there are three recessed nine-paned hung sash windows, while the ground floor has three similar sixteen-paned hung sash windows, all featuring key blocks in brick arches. The entrance is marked by a plain pilastered doorcase and an open pediment above a half-glazed panelled door. Inside, there is an inglenook hearth and exposed floor frames with moulded beams, which are enriched with carved details in the saloon bar.
