Description
Old Webb's is a cottage dating from 1657 that has been renovated. It features a timber frame, plaster rendering, and a long straw thatched roof, which is half hipped at the northeast end. There is a 19th-century brick ridge stack. The building has a two-bay layout with a lobby entry plan and a narrower storage bay at the northeast end. It is one storey high with an attic, and includes two gable dormers. There are two casement windows on either side of the doorway, and a late 20th-century rear extension has been added. Inside, there are abutting inglenook hearths, one of which has been rebuilt. The roof contains reused timber and clasped side purlins. Notably, the main beam in the ground floor room is inscribed with the initials R.M. and the date 1657.
