Description
Goslings Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It features a red brick exterior and a plain tiled roof. The building is two storeys high with attics and consists of three bays. There is an external gable end stack on the right side and an end stack on the left side. Notable architectural details include a moulded string and a dentil eaves cornice, as well as gauged brick arches over two ground floor and three first floor recessed twelve-paned hung sash windows. The central doorway is topped with a hood and has a half-glazed door. There are also two casement dormer windows with hipped roofs. Inside, the farmhouse has a central staircase with turned balusters and a close string, along with exposed ceiling beams. It is believed that the farmhouse was possibly built for John Gosling, a wealthy farmer and tanner who purchased the estate in 1790. The farm was sold in 1913.
