Description

No. 22 High Street is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling, dating from the 18th century. The building features a timber frame with plaster rendering and a long straw thatched roof, along with a shared red brick chimney that has two flues. It is one storey high with an attic and includes one dormer. There are two modern three-light casement windows. The original doorway to one cottage has been blocked, and the entrance to the other is no longer in use; the current doorway is located in a late 20th-century extension at the rear. Inside, the building consists of two bays, with each cottage originally having a red brick fireplace and a ladder staircase leading to the chamber above; one of these staircases is still intact.
