Description
Balsham Place is a house built around 1827, as indicated by the dated stone above the doorway in the west wall. The house was extended at the rear in the late 19th century. It is constructed of gault brick and features a hipped slate roof with a dentil eaves cornice and internal tacks. The building has a double pile plan and stands two storeys tall with a double front.
The front facade includes three recessed twelve-pane hung sash windows with glazing bars on the upper sashes. The central doorway is framed by an Ionic portico, which has an entablature and a flat roof. The entrance features panelled double doors and a rectangular fanlight. On either side of the doorway are two full-length hung sash windows.
