Description
Glebe House, formerly the vicarage, was built around 1835. It is constructed of grey brick that has been stuccoed and incised to resemble stone ashlar, topped with a hipped slate roof and internal stacks. The house has a double pile plan with offices and services located at the rear and to the left. It stands two storeys high with a symmetrical facade featuring three recessed twelve-pane hung sash windows, which are framed by clasping corner pilasters. There are two steps leading up to the central doorway, which has a narrow hood supported by enriched console brackets. The double doorway consists of panelled doors and a rectangular fanlight above. A round-headed arch is present over the staircase window in the rear wall.
Inside, a vestibule leads to a hall with family and service rooms branching off. The open staircase features stick balusters. The ground floor rooms include one original white marble fireplace and one grey marble fireplace. There are fitted bookcases in one room, which is dated 1853 and likely served as the incumbent's study and parish room.
