Description
Vallance Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1825, after the enclosure for tenant James Gosling. It is constructed of white gault brick that has been painted, and features a steeply pitched hipped roof covered with plain tiles. The building has stacks on both the left and right sides. It stands two storeys high with cellars, consisting of a main range of three bays, a recessed extension of one bay to the left, and a rear outshut with a service wing. The entrance includes three twelve-paned hung sash windows on the ground floor and four similar windows on the first floor. The interior features a staircase and chimney pieces that are contemporary with the other details of the house. The total cost of construction was £800, which included the re-erection of a barn.
