Description

No. 83, High Street is an 18th-century cottage in West Wrating, situated on the south side of the High Street. The building is timber-framed and has been rendered on a plinth, with a long-straw thatched roof. A chimney stack is located to one side. The cottage is two bays wide and set at an angle to the road. It has one storey, with an attic space. The gable end facing the road has two window openings, both enlarged and containing hung sashes with a central glazing bar. A doorway is located in the north-east side wall. The building is included on the list for its contribution to the character of the surrounding group of buildings.
