Farmhouse. Late C13 aisled hall with crosswing possibly C15 or earlier, C18 and C19 additions and alterations. Timber framed and plastered, early C18 local bricks, C19 brick and painted brick. Plain tile roofs. Red brick ridge stacks to main range and crosswing. Two storeys with central main range aisled, crosswing to west with hipped roof, extensions to east one storey with attics. North facing facade has one boarded door to left hand and one four-panelled door; two horizontal sliding sash windows and three hung sash windows randomly placed. Interior. Two arcade posts, and arcade plates with tie beams and crown post truss complete, with some rafters of original C15 hall. (Other timbers are possibly concealed by C19 plastered ceilings and partitions). Dairy with cheese press. The farmhouse is situated on the pre enclosure building line of the village green. Lady Dudley Ryder, daughter of Thomas Cockayne lived at the farmhouse in 1852. Davis E.M. P. C.A.S. Vol. LXXII, 1982
