Description
Mill Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed from local yellow gault brick laid in English bond. It features a modern plain tile hipped roof with a ridge stack. The building is two storeys high and has five bays, along with a lower rear kitchen wing. Notable architectural details include a dentil brick eaves cornice, a band at the first floor level, and a plinth. The farmhouse has a 20th-century gabled porch that includes a late 19th-century glazed panelled door. There are four three-light casement windows with segmental brick arches on the ground floor, four similar windows on the first floor, and a central two-light casement window. Inside, the farmhouse has a lobby entry with two sealed inglenook hearths and two 18th-century chimney pieces on the first floor. The rear kitchen wing has been recently altered and was originally thatched. The farmhouse is situated on the pre-enclosure building line of the green.
