Description

Church Farmhouse is a house, originally a farmhouse, dating to the late 17th century. It was largely rebuilt in the late 19th century, retaining one bay and a kitchen wing from the earlier building. Further alterations were made in 1984. The house is constructed of painted brick and 17th-century brick, with plain tile roofs. A gault brick stack rises from the ridge, and another from the rear. The façade features a two-storey, enclosed entrance porch with a half-glazed door and a rectangular fanlight above, alongside a small hung sash window. A bay from the original farmhouse is located to the right, containing a two-light mullioned window which has been blocked. Two ground floor and two first floor hung sash windows are set within segmental brick arches. The building has a brick plinth and patterned bargeboards. The kitchen wing to the west retains the original floor frame, some rafters, and a gable end stack from the original structure. Interior details of the main range date to the late 19th century.
