Description

This is a drinking fountain located at the junction with Bourn Road, dating from the mid-19th century. The structure features walls made of limestone and pebble rubble, integrated into an earth bank. The fountain has a copper spout mounted on a dressed limestone slab, which also includes a drain beneath it. On two wall panels flanking the fountain, there is an inscription that reads, "This wayside drinking fountain is in memory of Emma Mary Hendley, Author of Personal and Domestic Hygiene for India."
