Description
Street Farmhouse is a house located on Main Street in Shudy Camps, dating from the early to mid-17th century, with an extension added to the north side around 1800. The building is timber-framed and plastered, featuring a tiled roof with original bargeboarded gable ends on both the east and west sides. It has a triple shafted ridge stack and a straight range with an original two-storey porch at the front, which has been later extended at the rear to form an L-plan. The house has two storeys and an attic, with the attic storey jettied at the gable ends. The moulded bressumer has an apron below, from which three acorn pendants hang, possibly indicating a restoration. The front wall includes three modern casement windows on the first floor, including one in the porch. The rear wing, built around 1800, is made of red brick and has a hipped tiled roof. Its side walls are divided into three bays, each separated by a pilaster, and there is one dormer on the west side.
