Description
No. 45 Church Street is a Grade II listed building located in Buckden. Originally built as a timber-framed house with a lobby entry and a three-unit plan, it was encased in 18th-century red brick and features plain tile roofs. The building has been extended to the west by one bay and to the rear with a parallel range that includes a bakehouse, brewhouse, and sunken dairy. In the 19th century, a cottage was added at the south-west angle, continuing the building line.
The structure is two storeys high, with a ridge stack and an end stack to the west. The street-facing facade includes four first-floor windows: one recessed 19th-century hung sash window with glazing bars and two horizontal sliding sash windows. On the ground floor, there are three windows set in segmental arches, two of which have 19th-century hung sashes. Additionally, there are two four-panelled doors within plain architraved doorcases.
