Description
Buckden House is a late 18th century, or possibly early 19th century, house with a T-plan and double pile layout. It features a symmetrical facade with five bays, standing two storeys tall with attics. The building is constructed of red brick and has plain tile roofs with shallow parapet gables, a ridge stack, and an end stack on the west side. There are five flat-roofed dormer windows that have horizontal sliding sashes and glazing bars. On the first floor, there are five hung sash windows with glazing bars set in flush frames, and four larger windows with similar features set in segmental arches at the ground floor. The entrance boasts a six-panelled half-glazed door framed by a reeded wooden architrave with a lozenge design in the frieze. Inside, the house contains 19th century details, including two notable chimney pieces.
