Description

Number 4 (Waters Edge) is a cottage located on the west side of London Road in Sibson-cum-Stibbington. It dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with alterations and additions made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with freestone dressings and features Collyweston stone slate roofs, which have parapet gables and a partly rebuilt brick end stack on the west side.

The south elevation includes a 20th-century extension on the right with a pent roof and an entrance at the angle. To the left, there are two casement windows on each floor. The boundary wall is located to the east, and there is a small wash house to the south, which has a red pantiled roof, a brick stack, and boarded doors and a window on the north elevation. Inside, the cottage features chamfered ceiling beams. Historically, it was associated with riverside wharves and served as a granary in 1759 before being converted into a house.
