Description
Nos 21 and 23 on Church Street are mid-19th century houses that stand two storeys tall. They are constructed from gault brick and feature a low-pitched slate roof with end stacks and two ridge stacks that are symmetrically positioned. The deep eaves are supported by pairs of modillions.
The central facade includes gable casement windows with margin lights set in pointed arches, situated above a central elliptical arched cartway that has a key block and a pair of plank doors. To the right, there is a symmetrical arrangement of three first-floor hung sash windows with glazing bars in cambered arches, along with two similar ground-floor windows flanking a doorcase. This doorcase has a deeply moulded architrave, corner bosses, reeded reveals, and a plain cornice. The panelled door features geometric patterned glazing bars in the fanlight. The left side mirrors this arrangement but has a modern door.
