Description

The Chestnuts is a late 17th century cottage located on the north side of The Highway in Great Staughton. The building features exposed timber framing with modern rendered infill and some applied framing. It has two bays and a thatched, gabled roof with a ridge stack, which is rough-cast rendered. The cottage stands two storeys high and has two horizontal sliding sash windows that are flush with the eaves. On the ground floor, there are four windows and two modern doors. Additionally, there is a modern, thatched open-sided porch.
