Description

This is an 18th-century cottage that was altered in the late 18th or early 19th century when a second storey was added and the roof was raised. A shop wing was later added to the north side in the mid-19th century. The building is timber-framed and rendered with a three-unit plan. The roof is slate, with an end stack replacing the original ridge stack. The upper floor has three modern casement windows set flush with the eaves. The ground floor has two similar windows. A later brick porch provides the entrance. The shop wing is constructed of brick with a slate roof, hipped to the north. It has one recessed sash window with glazing bars on the first floor and a modern shop front.
