Description
Holdich Farmhouse is an early 18th-century house with a T-plan layout. It is constructed of red brick, with a rendered rear range, and features a plain tiled roof adorned with a wood modillion eaves cornice. The gable ends have parapets supported by kneelers, and there are end stacks. The house is two storeys high with attics and has a symmetrical elevation of seven bays, with a slightly projecting central bay. The windows consist of seven hung sashes that have rusticated architraves, open boxing, and 19th-century slender glazing bars. The voussoirs are made of rubbed brick, topped with a projecting rendered key block. The central doorway is framed by an early 19th-century doorcase, which includes reeded pilasters with boss enrichments at the corners and a shaped cornice. On the right-hand gable end, there are segmental-headed arches leading to four narrow window openings that are now sealed, also featuring rusticated architraves.
Inside, there is an early 18th-century closed-string staircase with turned balusters and square newel posts. Additionally, there is an 18th-century red brick wall at the front of the property.
