Description
White House is a 17th century farmhouse that is timber-framed and plastered. It has an L-shaped plan with an early 19th century addition at the angle. The building stands two storeys high with attics and features a steeply pitched modern plain tile roof and a gabled porch. There is a ridge stack with grouped red brick shafts, two end stacks on the rear wings, and a stack on the original wing that has a diagonal shaft.
On the first floor, there are two horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars and one small casement window. Flanking the half-glazed, 19th century panelled door are two late 19th century casement windows with three and four lights. Inside, the farmhouse contains two original inglenook hearths and floor frames that feature a carved cornice decorated with a guilloche design, which may have originated from some original panelling.
