Description
The Francis Pottery is a cottage that dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. Originally subdivided in the 19th century, it has since been restored to a single dwelling. The building features timber framing that is plaster rendered, with a half-hipped roof covered in long-straw thatch. There is a single flue ridge stack from the 18th century and a 19th-century end stack that dates from the time of subdivision. The cottage has two ground floor rooms and an original entry leading to a lobby. It is one storey high with an attic, and there are two small dormers that may be original, featuring early 20th-century horizontal sliding sashes. The ground floor includes two windows and a doorway leading to the lobby entry, while the end wall is made of brick.
Inside, there is an inglenook hearth and a cupboard staircase, along with some exposed timber framing. The building was extended to the side and rear in the late 20th century.
