Description

Chapel End is a cottage dating from the late 17th century. It features a timber frame that is partly exposed and stands on a brick plinth. The roof is covered with longstraw thatch and has a half hipped design. There is a painted brick ridge stack and a projecting end stack, which are likely from the 19th century. The cottage has a single range lobby entry plan and consists of one storey with an attic. Two dormers have been added or enlarged in modern times. On the ground floor, there are four small pane windows, including two horizontal sliding sashes. The doorway is located in a lean-to porch with brick sides opposite the stack. The exposed framing consists of four bays with short upward bracing from the posts to the plate.
