It is constructed of gault brick and features a plain tiled mansard roof with a tumbled parapet gable on the left side. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a band between the floors.
The Small House section includes one dormer, two casements with segmental arches on the first floor, and one casement on the ground floor. There is a moulded architrave around the 19th-century doorway and casement on the right side. The Fernleigh section has two dormers and two hung sashes with margin lights in cambered arches, flanking one hung sash. Additionally, there are two similar hung sashes with margin lights that flank a gabled, gault brick porch. The left gable end features wrought iron initials 'T.G.'.
