Description
Nos. 12 and 14 Broadway is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall. It is constructed of gault brick and features a stone band at the second floor level, along with stone coping on the parapet. The middle block of the building is slightly recessed and it has five windows, with the middle window on the first floor being of the Venetian type, although some glazing bars are missing.
No. 12 has a mid-19th century shop front that includes an entablature flanked by consoles, with windows divided by columnettes. The wooden doorcase of No. 12 is adorned with composite pilasters that support an entablature with a pediment. No. 14 has a modern shop front and features a round arched doorway with a fanlight and a panelled door. Additionally, No. 12 is complemented by cast iron railings topped with urn finials.
These buildings, along with Nos. 2 to 6 (even), Nos. 16, and Nos. 20 to 32 (even), form a group with Nos. 1 to 17 (odd) and Nos. 21 and 23 Crown Street.
