Description

Ferndale Cottage is a 17th century cottage featuring a two-unit plan and a lobby entry. It has one storey and attics, with a two-storey 19th century brick extension to the north and a lean-to on the south side. The cottage is constructed with a plastered timber frame and has a ridge roof covered with pantiles, along with a 19th century brick ridge stack. There is one dormer window with horizontal sliding sashes and glazing bars, as well as two similar windows in a three-window range. The entrance includes a 19th century four-panelled door. Inside, the cottage boasts two inglenook hearths and exposed ceiling beams.
