Description
Rookery Farmhouse is a 17th century farmhouse featuring an original three-unit plan and a lobby entry. It was extended to the west and north in the 19th century. The building has two storeys and attics, with a rendered timber frame and a steeply pitched slate roof. There is a large ridge stack to the left of centre and an end stack to the east, both made of 19th century brick. The farmhouse includes one flat-roofed dormer window with a modern casement and three, three-light casement windows on both floor levels, along with a wide plank door. The foundations are made of stone and brick. Inside, there are two inglenook hearths with stone jambs and the remains of a baking oven. The interior also features raised and fielded panelled doors with original hinges and handles, as well as exposed and boxed ceiling beams.
