Description

Chestnut Farmhouse is a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered farmhouse. A later, plain tiled mansard roof was added, dated 1793 as indicated by a plaster oval on the west gable. A red brick ridge stack is also present. The original house is one storey and attic height, with two additional single-storey wings extending to the east and north. Three first-floor dormer windows with glazing bars are set into the roof. A late 18th-century six-panelled door is set within a moulded wooden frame, complemented by a flat-roofed canted bay window with a hung sash to the east and a hung sash window with glazing bars to the west.
