Description

This is a timber-framed and plastered farmhouse, likely built in two phases during the 17th century. Around the 19th century, the street facade was cased in gault brick. The house comprises a two-storey range with garrets to the west, and a one-storey and attic range to the east. It has plain tile roofs, with a red brick external gable stack to the west and a ridge stack. A saw-tooth brick eaves cornice runs along the top, and there is a brick parapet on the two-storey range. The front of the building has two first-floor casement windows, one gabled dormer window, and four ground-floor windows: three casements and one horizontal sliding sash, all featuring glazing bars. A six-panelled door is set within a wooden architrave and is sheltered by a bracketed canopy. Internally, the house includes sealed inglenook hearths and stop-chamfered ceiling beams with run-out stops.
