Description
The Royal Oak Public House is a 17th-century inn that features a timber-framed and plastered structure, with a painted 19th-century brick facade facing the street. The building has a thatched roof and consists of one storey and an attic, arranged in a three-unit plan with a lobby entry. There is an end stack to the west and a ridge stack. The exterior includes two plain tiled, gabled dormer windows with casements, as well as three recessed hung sash windows with glazing bars. The entrance has a modern door. Inside, the pub showcases exposed stop-chamfered ceiling beams and a large inglenook hearth, which is backed by a later 18th-century red brick hearth.
