Description
The Green Man Public House is a 17th-century inn located on East Street in Colne. It is a two-storey building with a two-unit plan, featuring an outshut and a lobby entry. The structure is timber-framed with a three-bay design and has a colour-washed brick facade. The roof is made of corrugated iron, covering the original thatch. A central stack has four diagonally grouped shafts. The first floor has a symmetrical arrangement of three windows, which are hung sashes with glazing bars set in moulded architraves. Flanking the central modern door are two large sashes in segmental arches. Inside, the timber-frame remains intact, showcasing two inglenook hearths and stop-chamfered ceiling beams.
