Description

The Manor is a late 15th or early 16th century farmhouse, originally of hall and crosswing plan. The house was substantially altered in the 17th century with the addition of two bays and two storeys to the west, and the rebuilding of the east crosswing in line with the hall, incorporating one storey and an attic. It has exposed timber framing and thatched roofs. A large modern brick stack now stands where the original 17th century stone stack once was. The exterior features two gabled dormer windows with iron frames and lattice lights, three horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars and 19th century panelled shutters, and a modern porch reached by steps. Internally, there are two restored inglenook hearths, one original carved four-centred arched doorway to the crosswing, and stop-chamfered ceiling beams.
