Description

Corner Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1845, as indicated by the carved bricks that read "JS, SS, 1845." It incorporates the timber-framed walls and limestone chimney stack of an earlier building. The farmhouse has a symmetrical double pile plan with a later extension at the rear and stands two storeys high. The front features three hung sash windows with glazing bars, and the exterior is made of gault brick with slate hipped roofs. The original doorcase has plain pilasters and a cornice, though it now has a modern six-panelled door. Inside, the farmhouse retains original doors, a staircase, and chimney pieces, as well as an inglenook hearth with recessed seats that may date back to the 16th century.
