Description
Soma House, Post Office and Wayside is a 17th-century building that has been converted into two dwellings and a shop. It is two stories high and has a three-unit layout. The roof is covered with asbestos tiles, and there is a large ridge stack located to the left of the center, along with an end stack on the right side. The structure is timber-framed and rough-cast, featuring a first-floor range of three horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars. On the ground floor, there are two horizontal sliding sash windows, one modern shop window, and two doors.
Inside, the building includes two inglenooks made of Barnack stone with stop-chamfered jambs, and an ovolo-moulded mantel beam. There is also an original three-light diamond mullion window in the south wall of Soma House.
