Description
Stuart House is a farmhouse and barn dated 1648, located on Huntingdon Road in Wyton. The building is two-storeys tall with a symmetrical plan and features a stair turret. It has a rendered timber-frame structure and a plain tile roof, with thatch covering the barn. A large central stack has a dentil cornice and grouped diagonal shafts. There is a small gabled and jettied wing that provides a canopy over the central half-glazed door. The ground floor has four horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars and shutters, and there are four similar windows on the first floor, including one smaller central window. To the left, there is an 18th-century wing made of red brick, which has tumbled parapet gables and a plain tile roof. Inside, the house features re-used ceiling beams, including one ovolo-moulded beam, and two inglenook hearths.
