Description
The gate piers and railings adjacent to the Porter's Lodge date from the 19th century. They consist of limestone piers and a low wall, topped with cast iron railings. The railings feature intermediate iron piers adorned with acorn finials. The wall piers have panelled sides, a moulded cornice, and rebated corners, and are topped with four scroll brackets that support a coronet with a ball finial. The gate piers are also panelled and have ball finials, although the gates themselves have been replaced.
