Description
This is a double aisled barn located to the northwest of Number 15, known as Peckover House. It dates from the 17th century, although its gable walls have been reduced and it was reroofed, possibly in the late 18th century. The barn is constructed of red brick and features a thatched, half-hipped roof. Its rhomboid plan follows the plot boundaries to the east and west. There are two double entries on the north and south sides, along with ventilation loops in the gable walls and some blocked openings. It is noted that the barn was reportedly used as a theatre in the early 19th century by the Peckover family, as mentioned in Gardiner's "History of Wisbech" from 1898.
