Description
This is a row of cottages, now two, dating from the early 18th century. The left-hand gable end features soft red brick in English bond, which is painted, and the building has a steeply pitched roof covered with pantiles and asbestos. The gabled ends are tumbled, and there is a dentil eaves cornice. The ridge and end stacks have been rebuilt. The cottages are one storey with attics. No. 52 includes two dormers and restored windows on either side of the doorway, which has a 20th-century door. No. 55 features two 19th-century cat-slide dormers and four 20th-century windows, which maintain the original segmental arches. The doorway also has a similar arch that is original. The gable end displays visible original brickwork and has a blocked window opening with a stone or gault brick surround.
