Description
Nos. 42, 43, and 44 at Ditton Green are a farmhouse that has been divided into three dwellings. This building dates from the early 17th century and features a timber frame with plaster, topped by a corrugated iron roof that was added around 1916, covering the original reed and sedge thatch. The structure is two storeys high, with a service end and a recessed hall forming the main range, and a cross wing on the right side.
There are four casement windows on the first floor and four on the ground floor, which vary in size. The building includes two half-glazed entrance doors and a side entrance to the cross wing. Inside, the ground floor rooms have stop-chamfered and moulded ceiling beams, while the timber frame is sealed except in the cross wing. There are also two sealed inglenook hearths.
