Description

Hambleton House is a house, formerly the vicarage, built in 1849 for Rev. Walker. It is red brick with slate roofs. The building has a cruciform plan comprised of a three-storey central block with a pediment and two-storey wings with hipped roofs. There are two chimney stacks. Windows are linked vertically by brick pilasters and projecting brick window arches. The main block has three-light casement windows on each floor, while the wings feature first-floor hung sash windows and ground-floor garden casements. The main entrance is located in the rear wing to the left. A late 19th-century open porch is situated in an angle of the building. The interior retains original details, including a canted open string staircase. A dated stone is visible in the wall of the outbuilding.
