Description

The gate piers and boundary wall to the west of Hopes Cottage date from the late 17th century. They are constructed of red brick and feature limestone domed caps with ball finials. The structure includes a four-centred arched side entrance. The design is attributed to J.P. Hore of the Cheveley Estate from 1899. The wall is associated with Cheveley Park and its stables, which were depicted in a painting by Jan Siberechts, an artist active from 1627 to 1700.
