Description

Hopes Cottage is a lodge built around 1900, featuring red brick and a plain tile roof. It is designed in the Queen Anne revival style and consists of one storey with an attic. The building has shaped gables and two shafted stacks at the rear. There is one casement window in the attic, a recessed half-glazed door with a four-centred arch, a bay window on the right side, and a casement window on the left side. The design is similar to a pair of lodges located to the north in Newmarket. The lodge was associated with J.P. Hore of the Cheveley Estate in 1899.
