Description

This is a range of three early to mid-19th century brick houses, numbered 8 to 12, on the West End. The houses are built with Haddenham bricks and are two stories high with a four-window front. They feature double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, set within flush cased frames. The ground-floor windows have segmental brick arches above them. The doorways are flanked by pilasters, feature a frieze, and have cornices. Two of the doorways retain their original doors with vertical panels. The roofs are slate. The group value of these houses is enhanced by their connection to numbers 2 to 12 (even) and 16 (the West End PH), along with the dovecote, walls, and barns associated with St John’s Farmhouse, and numbers 2 to 20 (even) on St John’s Road.
