Description
The Old Crown House is a house dating from the early 18th century, which was refronted in the late 18th century. It is constructed of local buff and pink gault brick in English bond, featuring a plain tiled roof and tumbled end parapets on kneelers. The building has a plain eaves cornice and rebuilt end stacks above the ridge. It consists of one storey and attics, with three late 19th century or early 20th century gable dormers. The front has three 19th century three-light wood casements set under segmental arches. At the rear, there is a wing from the 18th century, with red brickwork on the lower courses and gault brick on the upper courses. This wing has a tiled roof with a dentil eaves cornice and an end parapet, and the gable ends display early 18th century red brickwork.
