Description
Hill House is a cottage dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with extensions added at the northeast end in the 19th century and again at the rear in the mid to late 20th century. The building is timber framed, rendered, and features a half-hipped plain tiled roof with a square red brick ridge stack. It has one storey and an attic, with two gable dormers. The lobby entry doorway is flanked by two three-light wood casement windows. The 19th-century extensions have rendered walls and a slate roof, and they rise to two storeys. Inside, the exposed framing includes downward wall-bracing, with one brace recessed. The inglenook hearth has been partly rebuilt, and the roof is supported by side purlins.
